A: At Staff Training our focus is to provide Real Solutions for Real People with Real Challenges, and a very real problem that training and HR managers are facing is that of employees slipping back into “the old way of doing things†shortly after they’ve attended training.
But let’s face it; we’re all creatures of habit. One of the modules in our Emotional Intelligence workshop explores this phenomenon in some detail, explaining that once habits have been formed, our actions tend to naturally play out along these lines - unless we make a concerted effort to change things.
It’s therefore only natural that an employee would feel more comfortable slipping back into old habits once they’re back in the workplace - particularly as they get busier and more stressed as the pressures of their daily jobs start to mount.
To assist these employees in remaining accountable for the implementation of their new skills, as well as helping to keep this new knowledge foremost in their minds, Staff Training has developed an Online KPI Check as an optional addition to any of our workshops.
The Online KPI Check is a type of self-assessment that the employee completes over a period of two months, where they are asked to use the content of the course they’ve attended and identify a number of areas they would like to improve on in their jobs, as well as to explain how they intend on making these changes.
We then allow sufficient time for the implementation of these changes and then request the employee to report back on how the process went and what improvements can be seen.
This information is then compiled into a report which is sent back to the training/HR manager, and can be used for future goal setting and performance management.
