Real Anger Management

https://www.stafftraining.co.za/blog/real-anger-management

Anger is a funny thing. It eats away at you, depresses you, follows you around and creates conflict with the people you are supposed to be closest to.

It makes us snappy and short tempered and has a way of making us seem a lot less likeable than we really are, which, when you stop to think about it, is actually really unfair, isn't it?

I mean, WE'RE not the ones who have done anything wrong - that's why we're cross! - yet we're the ones walking around with this burden, we're the ones feeling upset and we're the ones being shifted to the bottom of everyone's friend list because our sarcasm has been on overdrive lately.

But that's just the point - WE'RE doing this to ourselves.

And we should stop.

Instead of letting annoyance grow into frustration and frustration into anger we should deal with issues as soon as the crop up, be more assertive in communicating what we want from people and learn to let go of unresolved anger for our own good.

Realising that anger is affecting you and me and the people around us more than anything else helps us see that it's simply not worth the energy, and that maybe forgiving and forgetting, or finally getting to the bottom of conflicts, is really the way to go.
