Quick Tips on Getting Motivated at Work
Motivation and the ability to self-motivate makes any job you do more enjoyable and productive, but finding that motivation can be harder on some days than others….

While it may be obvious that a receptionist or salesperson needs constant motivation to perform their jobs effectively, the truth is that to do our jobs well (and enjoy doing it at the same time) we all need to be constantly motivated about what we do.

So how do you find motivation on those darker days? Below are a few tips that can make it a little bit easier…

Remember, it's your life and you're in control.

When you find yourself in a slump at work it can help to remember that not everything has to be left to fate. If you want that promotion you can start to put in the extra work to get it; if it's a colleague that's getting you down remember that you are capable of resolving the conflict and establishing a healthy business relationship in the long run.

Do everything you do with everything you've got.

Remember that saying, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right"? Think about this with every task you do. Not only does this lead to a higher quality of work - which in itself is motivating - but it also helps you answer the question, "is this worth doing?".

By deciding if a task is worth doing or not you are able to either delegate it or outsource it accordingly, ensuring that it's dealt with in the best possible way. This both frees up your time for more important tasks and helps unclutter your to do list - and if this isn't motivating I don't know what is!

Just get up and do something.

It's amazing when you put it on paper just how many hours of the day we waste doing nothing. Aimlessly surfing TV channels, clicking from one website to another to just pass the time…

But doing nothing all the time doesn't help our motivation levels - and just how are you meant to find motivation for work when you can't even find motivation for life?

Get up off the couch and do something, you'll be happier for it in all areas of your life.
