Simply collecting and compiling a boring list of stats and data isn't enough, and probably won't impress even the most analytical of people. Likewise a poorly laid out presentation that follows no real logic, is cluttered, bland or garish isn't going to get you very far either.
To get the most out of your presentations Staff Training has compiled a short list of tips taken from its Presentation Skills Workshop that is sure to get you moving in the right direction…
For Hard Copy Presentations
Use large, clear fonts - at least 10 points
Remember: rather too little on the page than too much
Use a neat, consistent layout
For Digital Presentations
Keep it simple
Be consistent
Include your company logo
Use simple colours
Use the 7 word 7 line concept
One-on-One Presentations
Be organised, have any hardcopy at hand as well as pens and writing paper
Use your hardcopy as little as possible
Have good product knowledge, competitor knowledge and industry knowledge
Presenting to Small and Large Groups
During these types of presentations, particularly when presenting to small groups, your audience will inspect everything about you from your presentation skills and knowledge to your dress sense and body language.
For this reason it is imperative that you are well prepared all around. Use confident body language, have your notes organised and summarised and avoid flowing clothes or jangling jewelry that might distract your audience.
