How to do research
How to do research
"The more important reason is that the research itself provides an important long-run perspective on the issues that we face on a day-to-day basis." - Ben Bernanke

Before doing your research you will need to answer the following questions:

• What is the purpose of your research? – I.e. the Topic

• Who does your audience consist of? – I.e. age groups, genders etc.

• What questions will you ask or are likely to be asked?

• How much time do you need for your investigation?

• How much time do you have for your presentation?

Different Research methods you can use:

Talking to people: This form of research is a good way of gathering information about a specific product, the community, or suppliers.

Interviews: This is work-related research to learn more about a person. The company wants to get full information from applicant to determine if she/he is the right person for the post.

The Internet: This is a more in-depth research method. Convenient and accessible at home and at work. Mostly used by students when doing their research. Use Google, Yahoo, etc.

The Library: Another method when looking for information is using different books from the library and asking librarians for more info – which they will usually be happy to assist with.
