Five reasons to wake up earlier
Because, "early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise."

Getting into the habit of waking up early in the mornings is a very good habit to have, here’s why:

1. It’s good for your body. Researchers have found that going to bed earlier and waking up earlier helps your body become more in tune with the earth’s circadian rhythms, allowing for more restorative sleep.

2. It’s good for your mind. Research conducted in 2008 found that early risers tend to be more proactive and more likely to agree with statements such as “I feel in charge of making things happen.”

The same study also found that early risers were quicker to anticipate business-related problems and effectively minimise their effects.

3. Early risers tend to be better planners. Most people who are in the habit of waking up early use this quiet time to plan their days, set goals and get organised.

4. “Morning people” are typically more optimistic than their late-rising counterparts. Studies have shown that people who wake early tend to be more agreeable and conscientious, while late-wakers are often linked to depression and pessimism.*

*On the plus side, those who burn the midnight oil are often associated with creativity and intelligence.

5. Getting a jump on the day, and using the quiet time in the morning, you’ll often finish your work sooner than those who relish their sleep, giving you more time to spend with your family or doing the things that you love.

In addition to these, you should wake up early simply to breathe the fresh morning air and take a moment to appreciate nature – it’ll do you wonders.
