This isn't always a bad thing - it keeps us safe from harm, for example - but often we allow perceived fear to dictate our behaviour as well.
To ensure that we aren't basing our behaviour on unfounded fears we can look at the core fears of the nine Enneagram Personality Types (you will likely identify quite strongly with one or two) and examine our resulting behaviour. Ask yourself: in this instance, is this fear real or perceived?

We always have a choice to operate from a point of fear or love. Emotional Intelligence, or being able to identify with our emotions and control them, has become a significant part of what determines success in the workplace. Be aware of what motivates your behaviours and stop letting fear rule your life.
