3 Quick Tips for Achieving Your Goals
We all have goals we'd like to work towards - some we've already started, some we’re afraid to start - but sticking with your plan of action and seeing it through to fruition is something nearly all of us struggle with.

Perhaps you’d like to lose weight, or get a promotion, or complete a particularly challenging project around the house. The fact is; anything that requires your continued efforts is subject to falling by the wayside as life inevitably gets in the way.

However, being able to see your goals through to the end isn’t a superpower - it’s something we all have the ability to do. All it takes is the right mindset.

1. Discover your motivation

The first step in achieving your goal is to think about WHY you want to achieve it in the first place. What is it about this goal that gets you excited? What were the reasons behind starting it? Perhaps your reason for wanting to lose weight is for your health, the promotion in order to get that new car, or your DIY project to make your home somewhere you love spending your time. Whatever your reason is, focus on it, envision it, and hold on to it when sticking to your plan of action gets tough.

2. Get clear about HOW you are going to tackle your goal

Having a clear idea of what success looks like to you, and holding on to your motivation for embarking on this project is a great start. Now you need to put your goal into manageable steps that you can, on a daily basis, go about achieving. Check out this article on SMART Goal Setting to help you do just this.

3. Recognise your progress and celebrate it

Along the way to achieving your goal you will have successes and failures. Focus on your successes, celebrate them and reward yourself. Be proud of the little things you do to get you that little step closer to achieving your goal. When you slip and don’t achieve quite what you wanted to that day, don’t dwell on it. Be more forgiving of yourself and try harder next time.
